How to Navigate Around R Computers' Site As you look at our site you should see that it is broken down into four areas. The yellow area at the top contains the R Computer graphic and the site map graphic. The area in the center, with the yellow border down the left side, has all the main information, and is named 'Main'. And at the very bottom is a scrolling marquee. In the Main area is a yellow border on the left which contains buttons (links) to other pages on this site and the white area contains all the detail information being presented for the topic you are viewing. On every page, but the first one, the last button, that is the one at the bottom, is always a link back to the first page. Nothing ever follows the last 'Back to Main' button. Likewise, the white area is terminated by a horizontal rule (a line across the screen), a 'send us your comments', and the pages modification date and copyright information. That is the end of every page and nothing ever follows this. There are links all over our pages to both other pages on our site and other sites altogether. If you leave our site you will lose the yellow border (the yellow border is found on all our pages). If you're interested in how long it took to create this site, please visit our WWW Development page. As with most sites this one is under constant modification. Where we plan to expand our site you will see underscores (i.e. _programming). This is not a typo, but a reminder to us that a link belongs there and will be inserted as soon as the page it links to is completed. We plan to expand a lot of areas (you can see our expansion plans in the site map. One of the things we are planning is to put up the code to our programs that we have developed to help us with our site. For example, all the links pages were created with a recursive linked list Visual Basic program which obtains its link information from Netscape Navigator's Bookmark file. As the links are changed in Netscape, it is a simple matter to rerun the program and update all the links pages. For more information on our site, like the links creation program, see our page on how we created our site. |
